Postoperative control

The patient after 10 days comes back for the activation of the C.I. and he continues with regular periodical checks at the 1°, 3°, 6°, 12°, 18°, 24°, 36° and 48° month.
All the checks are recorded in Video so that comparative elements exist for each patient.
Initially radiological check, for verification of the stability of the system, that is to say for the right place of the electrode, the depth of its placement and the exclusion of probable shifts.

The technical tests for the functionality of system follow:
• Telemetry and measurement of the impedance of electrode.
• Electrode Voltages (EV).
• Averaged Electrode Voltages after algebraic analysis

We continue with the check of the function of the C.I. with biological tests:
• Electrically elicited stapedious reflexes (ESR).
• Electrically Evoked Neural Response (NRT).
• Electrically Evoked Auditory Brainstem Response (EABR).
• Electrical Answers with Slow Latent Time (SVR).
• Analysis of the hearings/expression feedback.
• Free field audiogram and Speech audiometry.

Each check is completed with the examination of comprehension of the users speech (only for individuals with deafness in prelingual age) and with the completion of psychometric questionnaires.
